NOT FAIR TO COMPARE AGUERO TO JESUS-PEP
The Manchester City boss-Pep Guardiola strongly believes that the Brazilian forward shouldn't be compared to the club's record goal scorer Sergio Aguero.Gabriel Jesus is yet to get a goal since his last one in Febuary but has been in good form.
Gabriel Jesus was given the space to play as the first choice striker for Manchester City since Aguero sustained a knee injury. The Brazilian last scored against Leicester City and netting the equaliser against Real Madrid in the Champions League, the 23 year old has gone barren for eight matches without adding to his current season goal tally of 18.
In City's 4-0 stunning win against League champions-Liverpool on Thursday,Jesus wasn't in the scoresheet again.City travels to St Mary's to face Southampton,a location where he two years ago enjoyed one of the highlights of his Manchester City's career, scoring decisively in stoppage time to seal a 100 point season in 2017/18 and Pep keeps acknowledging him saying he is unique.
Pep Guardiola saying,
"No one can compare to Sergio, what he has done in his career-first because he is older than Gabriel".
"It is perfect for us because they are complimentary. What one guy has the other may be struggling with.
"Gabriel has something that is unique in the world. He helps us to be ore aggressive. He is a fighter.I remember how many goals we have scored the last three to four games thanks to him.
"Gabriel is something special for us.It is unfair to compare players.Every player is different. We have to adapt his qualities for the benefit of him and the team".
